Resolver System Application Tip: Populate Factors and Levels with Annotation Data with the Statistical Test Wizard.

Previously, we showed you how to add annotation data to the Resolver system with the Sample Annotation Text Loader. Now, we'll show you how to easily populate factors in statistical tests with annotation data using the Statistical Test Wizard.

  1. Start the Statistical Test Wizard using the icon on the toolbar. You can select data before starting the wizard or within the wizard.
  2. On the first window, select the test to use, number of factors, and a multiple test correction method.
  3. Assign factors and levels to each experiment. To populate factors and levels with annotation data, click Annotation (circled in red).

  4. An annotation data window opens. Select your annotation data from Available Attributes and click Add. In this example, Name of Treatment is selected.

  5. If you select multiple attributes, use options provided in the For multiple measurements use: section. Select an option for combining measurements, and click Apply (circled in red).
  6. Annotation data will be automatically populated for each experiment. You can name the factor by clicking on the name and typing in the data name, e.g., "Factor 1" can be changed to "Name of Treatment."
  7. Assign levels for each factor to all experiments. If level information is not available for some experiments, you can type in a name, e.g., "no treatment." To apply levels to experiments, select the row or multiple rows, select the level from the drop down (circled in red), and then select Apply.

  8. Next, select any thresholds and cuts that you want to apply to the data and indicate if you want to queue and save the results. If you do not save the results, the statistical test results are calculated and appear in a viewer.
